Erosion reduces the yield potential of agricultural land in the long term; at the same time, surrounding ecosystems and settlement areas can be damaged if soil material, nutrients and pesticides are carried away from fields. Increasingly frequent extreme weather events increase the potential for damage to humans and nature, so there is an urgent need for action to reduce soil erosion through selected measures. For a targeted implementation of such measures, suitable locations or areas can be identified by GIS-based models. In this project, spatially explicit data on erosion in Bavaria will be calculated and visualised, enabling the implementation of such measures. The generated data will also be further processed in the project &quot;XR Hub Bayern&quot; (University of Würzburg) for a three-dimensional visualisation of erosion events with VR glasses and thus contribute to the knowledge transfer into practice.<br>The InVEST SDR model (<a href="https&#58;//naturalcapitalproject.stanford.edu/software/invest">InVEST Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs</a>) is used for the erosion calculations. It supplements the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) with a runoff model and thus enables the quantification of soil displacements. The geodata required for the USLE are integrated into the model. In particular, a high resolution terrain model (DEM1). The field-specific land cover is calculated based on the current administrative land use data (InVeKoS data) and the method of Auerswald et al. (2021). In addition, the Bavarian water network (ATKIS data) is integrated. It determines the end points of sedimentation. As an intermediate result, the annual soil erosion into water bodies is mapped by a raster file. Threshold analyses of the raster identify small-scale erosion hotspots and visualise them as a map for potential agri-environmental measures.</div> EROSPOT <div class="ExternalClass1603C127-56C3-48F8-8725-0FFFB1EAAD01"></div> <div class="ExternalClass61F63414-6416-4580-90EA-BAB9C364CF6B"><ul><li>Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft (LfL)</li><li>Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Lehrstuhl für Mensch-Computer-Interaktion</li></ul></div> <div class="ExternalClassAB6C2E9B-6E05-4D25-AEEC-677011606E9D"><ul><li>Forschungsförderung des Bayerischen Staatsministeriums für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Forsten</li></ul></div> <div class="ExternalClassC261F48B-4755-4A6E-8CFD-1F1A8295DDC3"><ul><li>Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Forsten</li></ul></div> <div class="ExternalClassA370E115-FDA0-4445-BD14-F9CD9ABF1CFB"></div><div class="ExternalClassC7B616BCC9B44B709FE99929C7768A77">Bodenerosion wird insbesondere in der Landwirtschaft durch die Reduzierung der Bodenbedeckung verursacht.
