This project addresses cropping system diversification as a key concept that has been proposed to adjust conventional agronomy systems towards enhanced functional biodiversity and reduced pesticide use, and through this support healthier ecosystems and become more resilient against climate change. Hand in hand with current trends in digitalisation, new cropping system designs make use of opportunities that arise from smaller and more agile machinery (robots) and aim at utilising the potential of self-regulation (e.g. for natural pest and disease control) to arrive at agronomically feasible and economically implementable solutions for farmers. divCROP investigates three innovative cropping systems (patch cropping, strip-relay intercropping, row-relay intercropping) in an on-farm experiment for their agronomic viability and their potential to perform under reduced pesticide use. The project develops new and utilises existing simulation models for agroecosystem behaviour and farm economy to assess the economic resilience of the investigated cropping systems under heterogeneous site conditions against weather variability emerging from different future climate scenarios. In the long term, divCROP will identify field evidence, technology experience and ready-to-apply simulation models to further assess biophysical and the economic performance of diversified cropping systems in the context of digitalisation and climate change.<br></div> IPP 2021 - divCROP <div class="ExternalClassDFD6B46E-752B-4317-A18C-1DCB6F54C474"></div> <div class="ExternalClassA2221EB6-367C-4B1E-985E-7667D9E3C8B9"><ul><li>INRA - French National Institute for Agricultural Research, AGIR Lab, Toulouse, France </li><li>Universität Bonn</li></ul></div> <div class="ExternalClass9E3634D8-02E2-4E00-9F30-8DE0713A3653"></div> <div class="ExternalClass01EE630A-7763-4A15-8FF1-39939590CF75"></div> <div class="ExternalClass9BACCE84-2A18-42FE-9FD5-09452F4FBE19"></div><div class="ExternalClass9A2D0C92B8874425A52ED3FE33722CC4">Das Projekt divCROP befasst sich mit der Diversifizierung der Anbausysteme als einem Schlüsselkonzept, um konventionelle Agrarsysteme an eine verbesserte funktionale Biodiversität und einen reduzierten Pestizideinsatz anzupassen und dadurch Ökosystemfunktionen zu unterstützen und widerstandsfähiger gegen den Klimawandel zu werden.
