Areas of work
The Department of Research Information Systems designs and maintains research environments that support the archiving, processing, registering, networking and publishing of research findings such as data and publication, and ensures integration with document management and reporting systems. A specialised team with expertise in landscape research, data management, IT and geographic information systems (GIS) provides research assistance and support.
Objectives
To support research by offering advice and support.
To ensure good scientific practice.
To increase visibility and reuse of research data.
To ensure open access to research findings.
Concept
The scope, complexity and context of digital research findings and management data require the efficient integration of multiple systems of research support. In addition, the distribution and publication of consistent, high-quality research data requires close cooperation between researchers and data managers.
The department provides its services through all phases of the research process to ensure the transmission of the valuable research findings generated by the project domain into the institutional and public domain. System integration takes into account the increasing requirements of documentation and reporting systems. The close cooperation between experts in the fields of data and information management, library science and IT successfully turns the concept into reality.
