ZALF promotes targeted strategic networking with internationally renowned research institutions or research groups under the roof of one or two of ZALF research
topics by appointing 5-10 Fellows for up to two years each. Possible instruments of cooperation with the fellows are, for example, the joint initiation of large international collaborative projects, joint publications in renowned journals, guest stays of the fellows at ZALF as well as guest lectures by the fellows at ZALF. The Fellows' travel expenses are financed with up to 5,000 euros from ZALF's central budget.
