Many of the international cooperation partners are located in Europe, for example, Wageningen University & Research (WUR) in the Netherlands, the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE), the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), the Aarhus University and the Austrian University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna (BOKU). Outside Europe, topics such as food security and sustainable development are worked on with partners from Tanzania and Kenya, climate-adapted cultivation systems are developed with Colombian and Brazilian colleagues, and new irrigation strategies are developed in Uzbekistan. In addition, since 2017, there has been cooperation with the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) through joint supervision of doctoral theses, master's theses, and reciprocal annual student exchange.
