Open Access
With its
Open Access Policy ZALF is committed to the idea of free availability of research results and supports its researchers in open access publishing. ZALF participates in the DEAL transformative agreements,
WGL Open Access Publishing Fund and provides financial support for publication in gold open access journals via its central publication fund, when other sources have been exhausted. The rate of peer-reviewed journal articles in open access is rising continuously and was already at 78% in 2023.
In November 2022, the German Research Foundation (DFG) approved the application of ZALF in the
"Open Access Publication Funding" programme for the period 2023-2025. The DFG allowances are centrally managed at the Library & Publication Management.
