The 4th September took place the Field day Lietzen 2025, day of exchanges with stakeholders working on agriculture i.e. farmers, scientists, representatives of companies etc. Katharina Helming moderated a talk between Frank Ewert and Felix Gerlach (Komturei Lietzen) about soil challenges in Brandenburg. The IMA team presented the European projects SOLO and BENCHMARKS, the latter including soil sampling on Lietzen experimental site.
In SOLO, the scientists identify current knowledge gaps, drivers, bottlenecks, and novel research and innovation approaches to be considered in the European Soil Mission research and innovation roadmap.
The main objective of the project BENCHMARKS is to define a set of soil health indicators and to adapt the soil health monitoring to the context of different case studies. We presented results and highlighted the complexity of soil health assessment. We also distributed a questionnaire to the participants to ask for their opinion regarding soil health challenges and monitoring.
