How can we ensure that everyone is involved in the process of a transition towards more sustainable, plant-based and circular food systems? This is a key questions guiding the FoodSHIFT2030 project.

At the Conference in Barcelona, a variety of food system innovations were explored to find practical answers to the increasingly pressing question. Researcher, Innovators, NGOs and state representatives are working together to get people from all walks of life engaged. While business, policy, and education are relevant pathways within the transition, in the end it all comes down to the democratization of the food system, sais Beatrice Walthall from the PB3 working group “Spatial and System Context” and FoodSHIFT workpackage leader "Governing the Transition".
