The first Annual General Meeting of the EU Horizon project BUTTERFLY took place from 28 to 30 January 2026 in Aarhus, Denmark. The BUTTERFLY project aims to strengthen pollinator stewardship in response to the ecological, societal, and economic impacts of pollinator decline.

During the Annual General Meeting, partners from across the consortium reviewed project progress, coordinated upcoming activities, and strengthened collaboration. BUTTERFLY brings together partners from across Europe and beyond and takes a systemic, interdisciplinary approach that integrates ecological and spatial data, economic valuation, macroeconomic modelling, and social innovation through a network of Living Labs to co-create tools, interactive atlases and guidelines that support evidence-based policymaking and mainstream pollinator stewardship across key sectors.

ZALF contributes to the project through Work Package 3 (WP3) entitled “Assessment of the Economic Butterfly Effects of Pollinators,” which focuses on the comprehensive analysis of the economic and societal dependencies on pollinators in European countries using Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling.
