As part of the development of the federal government's national security strategy, Dr. Katharina Löhr (ZALF) participated as a panelist in the consultation workshop "Climate and Security in the National Security Strategy".
The organizer was the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office. The geopolitical and security policy challenges of climate change, (regional) vulnerabilities and methods for securing peace, as well as possible solutions, were discussed in panels. In the coalition agreement, the Federal Government has undertaken to develop a national security strategy. The Federal Foreign Office has taken the lead in this strategy development process and intends to take up ideas and explore different perspectives in a series of workshops.
