Dr. Jana Zscheischler will take up the junior professorship "Sustainability-oriented Production Economics" in Geography at the University of Vechta on 1 March 2022. During her time at ZALF, Ms Zscheischler researched intensively on questions of the design of sustainability-oriented transformation processes in rural areas and agricultural landscapes.
For her special achievements in this field, she received the "Transformative Science" research award of the Wuppertal Institute (funded by the Zempelin Foundation in the Donors' Association). Most recently, she investigated the extent to which current innovation processes in the bioeconomy actually contribute to a sustainable transformation.
At the University of Vechta, she now wants to further deepen her research and develop new transformative research formats within the framework of the research cluster "Transformation in Rural Areas". She will remain associated with ZALF as co-leader of the junior research group "BioKum" until the end of the project period.
