Steffen Kolb has been appointed as Professor at the Albrecht Daniel Thaer Institute at the
Humboldt-University of Berlin in June 2019.
Mr. Kolb will further be the co-head or
Research Area 1 "Landscape Functioning" and head of the working group "Microbial
Biogeochemistry" at ZALF.
His research is focussed on microbial communities in soils and
the rhizosphere of plants. Together with his group, he investigates the role and regulation of
microbes for the turnover of green house gases in agroecosystems and investigates their
capability to promote resilience of plants against climate change-associated weather extremes,
such as drought periods.
