Vereinigte Hagelversicherung invited to a press briefing on the occasion of the International Expert Seminar of the world's leading crop insurers. The event took place on Thursday, August 31 at the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in Müncheberg.
This year, around 175 representatives of insurers and reinsurers from 15 countries met in Müncheberg to discuss the challenges of managing drought and storm losses in maize crops. Practical exercises took place on the ZALF premises. During a press conference, Prof. Claas Nendel from ZALF gave a welcome speech.
Vereinigte Hagelversicherung is committed to fast, competent and objective claims settlement. For this reason, the International Association of Agricultural Production Insurers (AIAG) organizes an annual seminar where experts discuss the development of crop damage caused by drought and storms as well as challenges and solutions for claims settlement.
At a time when extreme weather events are on the rise worldwide, the impact on agriculture and crop insurance is of great concern. From northern Italy to the United States, hail, heavy rain, heat waves and tropical storms were reported in the days leading up to the event. Losses affected not only people, but also buildings, vehicles and agricultural infrastructure.
