Dabei fehlt es jedoch an regionalen Strukturen und Know-How zur Governance der ökologischen und sozialen Folgen. Vor diesem Hintergrund errichtet KoReGio100 im Clean Energy Valley ein Reallabor, das den Aufbau einer “kokreativen Region” als innovativen Governance-Ansatz und Lösungsmöglichkeit für die regionalen Herausforderungen der Flächen- und Ressourcennutzung entwickelt, erprobt und langfristig etabliert. Die kokreative Region dient dabei als Tool zur Befähigung der Region, den notwendigen sozial-ökologischen Transformationsprozess zu initiieren, zu integrieren und langfristig zu managen. Sie basiert auf (i) der Analyse der regionalen ökologischen Grenzen, (ii) dem Aufbau (sozialer) Innovationsfähigkeit und (iii) der Institutionalisierung von Konfliktbearbeitung. In inter- und transdisziplinärer Vorgehensweise werden gemeinsam mit regionalen Akteuren Systemwissen, Zielwissen und Transformationswissen entwickelt und die Aushandlung des sozial-ökologischen Transformationsprozesses in der kokreativen Region verstetigt. Dabei verknüpft KoReGio100 Geoökologie, soziale Innovationsforschung, Konfliktforschung und Umweltplanung. Die Ergebnisse dienen nicht nur dem Clean Energy Valley, sondern bieten Stadt-Umland-Regionen in Deutschland und darüber hinaus einen klaren Leitfaden, wie kokreative Regionen zur Governance sozial-ökologischer Transformationen aufgebaut und langfristig gemanagt werden können. KoReGio100 ermöglicht zudem zwei Postdocs und drei Doktorand*innen, sich in einem interdisziplinären Team aus (außer)universitären Institutionen, unterstützt durch regionale Praxispartner, (weiter) zu qualifizieren.<br></div> <div class="ExternalClass54595A0B4E79487CA36C6E4BC0CC9332">With the Clean Energy Valley initiative, the cities of Heide, Rendsburg, Neumünster, and Kiel, together with their surrounding communities, are initiating a comprehensive transformation process aimed at making the region one of the most important locations for processing renewable energies in Europe. However, there is a lack of regional structures and expertise for governing the ecological and social impacts of this process. Against this backdrop, KoReGio100 is establishing a living lab within the Clean Energy Valley to develop, test, and sustainably establish a “co-creative region” as an innovative governance approach and as a solution to regional challenges related to land and resource use. The co-creative region serves as a tool to empower the region to initiate, integrate, and sustainably manage the necessary socio-ecological transformation process. It is based on (i) the analysis of regional ecological boundaries, (ii) the development of (social) innovation capabilities, and (iii) the institutionalization of conflict management. Using an inter- and transdisciplinary approach, system knowledge, target knowledge, and transformation knowledge will be developed jointly with regional stakeholders, and the negotiation of the socio-ecological transformation process will then be consolidated within the co-creative region. KoReGio100 combines geoecology, social innovation research, conflict research, and environmental planning. The results will not only benefit the Clean Energy Valley but also provide urban-rural regions in Germany and beyond with a clear roadmap for how co-creative regions can be established and sustainably managed as a tool for governing socio-ecological transformations.
