Excellent doctorate on the topic of "Sustainable Intensification"

Dr. Meike Weltin (ZALF) completed her PhD at Bonn University.

On 2 November 2020, Ms Meike Weltin defended her dissertation with the title "Sustainable intensification: Farmers' adoption behaviour and environmental outcomes" at the University of Bonn with a "Summa cum Laude". She completed her dissertation at the Institute of Food and Resource Economics (ILR). Ms Weltin was employed at ZALF in the WG "Integrated Crop and Grassland Systems Analysis and Assessment (DESCO)" from 2015 to 2020, where she first completed her master thesis, for which she received an award from the Humboldt-Universität. She then worked in the EU project VITAL, which produced the majority of the publications on which the doctorate is based.

Meike was the representative of ZALF's PhD students and served on the steering committee of the Leibniz PhD Network. Meanwhile, she is employed in the working staff of the Federal Government Commissioner for the New Länder at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy.
