European countries have set ambitious targets for reducing pesticide risks. To meet these targets, farmers need to adopt sustainable crop protection strategies. However, it is still unclear how best to achieve this. A recent article in Agricultural Systems analyzed farmers' decision-making and policy instruments for sustainable crop protection.
The publication "Towards Sustainable Crop Protection in Agriculture: A framework for research and policy" analyzes farmer decision-making processes and policy measures to promote sustainable crop protection practices to reduce pesticide risks. It will be of particular interest to agricultural researchers, policy makers, and those involved in sustainable agriculture. The authors of the study have summarized their approach and the results of their study.
