The project “Agricultural System of the Future: DAKIS – Digital Agricultural Knowledge and Information System”, coordinated by ZALF, had its kick-off meeting on 14th June in Berlin with 38 participants.
Together with nine other research institutions, the scientists are working on a vision of the digital agriculture of tomorrow. A digital decision-making system for practical use will deploy robotics, sensors and computer models to make crop farming systems more economically efficient and at the same time more environmentally sustainable. After a keynote by Dagmar Weier of the Projektträger Jülich (PTJ), Ms. Bellingrath-Kimura presented the visions and goals of the DAKIS project.
