The ECO working group at ZALF presented SensorWeb – one of the three pillars of the AgroFlux sensor platform – to two groups of visitors: Section E of the Leibniz Association and a research delegation from Uruguay.

SensorWeb is based on low-cost DIY technology for ecophysiological measurements. It includes a wide range of systems: from sensor and logger modules for manual chamber measurements of CO₂, ET and CH₄, to handheld and automatic NDVI devices and weather stations, as well as semi-automatic chambers for GHG exchange measurements, sampling systems for subsequent laboratory analyses of stable water isotopes and a fully automatized mesocosm system.

Different components of SensorWeb have been published in Smart Agricultural Technologies, Biogeosciences and Atmospheric Measurement Techniques. All systems follow an open-science approach: required components, wiring schematics and program code are provided in a living document: Build-It-Yourself: Low-Cost Systems for Field Ecophysiology – An Open Handbook for DIY Environmental Measurement Systems (doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17101088).
