On June 12, 2024, the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) welcomed the local representations of universities from all over Brandenburg. This initiative is part of a transfer strategy that is unique in Germany and aims to promote cooperation between science, business, politics and civil society.
Science Minister Manja Schüle emphasized the importance of the contact points for universities in rural areas. "With the regional contact and coordination points, we are building bridges between the regional growth centers and the state's science and research institutions. The aim is to recruit young people interested in studying in the region and to inform them about Brandenburg's scientific landscape - but also to be a point of contact for local companies looking for skilled workers and in need of the latest research results," said Schüle.
Insights into the work of ZALF
ZALF is active in the monitoring committee of the university representations and supports the transfer of scientific results to the region. The 20 participants were welcomed by ZALF's Administrative Director, Martin Jank. Jank gave them a comprehensive overview of the institute's work and projects. Subsequently, ZALF employees presented the projects querFELDein and SynAgri-PV as well as the living laboratories. During a visit to the research campus in Müncheberg, the participants were able to get a first-hand impression of the research facilities and current projects.
During the visit, new collaborations for the transfer of research results to the region were initiated. The dialog and cooperation between the university representations and ZALF will be further intensified in the future.
