"Book a Scientist" - virtual speed dating with science

At "Book a Scientist" on 12 September, 2023, the curious and knowledge thirsty will have the chance to talk to an expert from the Leibniz Association for 25 minutes and ask everything they ever wanted to know about their favorite topic. There are over 100 research topics to choose from. The Leibniz Center for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) is also represented with two scientists.

How do we make the shift to a more climate-friendly agriculture? How can we support farms in becoming more resilient to climate change and reducing their own contribution to climate change? These are just two of the big questions to which ZALF scientist Dr. Toni Klemm is seeking answers. Research in living labs plays an important role in this. Under the motto "joint, practical and forward-looking," research is conducted there on solutions to problems affecting society as a whole, such as the climate crisis.

What will become of Lusatia in view of the coal phase-out and climate crisis? From an agricultural perspective, the soils are not suitable for crop cultivation. Due to climate change, average temperatures are rising, precipitation during the growing season is falling. How can structural change succeed in Lusatia? This is what Dr. Luise Porst is dealing with as part of the WIR! alliance Land-Innovation-Lausitz.
