Next year's Conference on Tropical and Subtropical Agricultural and Natural Resource Management (TROPENTAG) will be organized by the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in collaboration with the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The 2023 TROPENTAG will take place from September 20-22, 2023 in Berlin and online. The topic this year: „Competing pathways for equitable food systems transformation: trade-offs and synergies“.
TROPENTAG is an annual international conference on research in tropical and subtropical agriculture, rural development and natural resource management. It brings together scientists, students, graduates, development experts and funding organizations from several countries in central Europe and their various international partner institutions.
TROPENTAG is a development-oriented and interdisciplinary conference. This year’s conference addresses issues of different food systems transformation pathways. TROPENTAG invites all scientists, students and experts addressing topics not only regarding technical solutions, but also alternative approaches covering the range from fortified crops, sustainable intensification, climate-smart agriculture, agroecology, alternative food networks and the so-called Long Food Movement. We encourage contributions that discuss these solutions and approaches in the context of international rural development.
The featured CGIAR Centre in 2023 is the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).
