The universities, non-university research institutions, student unions and the Ministry of Science of the state of Brandenburg declared their full solidarity and support for Ukraine on 3rd March. Also the Directors of ZALF, Prof. Dr. Frank Ewert and Martin Jank, signed the declaration.
Science and research can only thrive in peace. The signatories condemn Russia's attack on Ukraine and want to extend the offer of help to Ukrainians. To this end, a "statewide platform to connect the aid offers of research and science institutions" is to be created. Connections to Central and Eastern Europe are to be expanded. Official scientific relations with Russia will be suspended.
