On June 18, 2024, the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) was honored for the fifth consecutive time in Berlin at the 26th berufundfamilie certificate award ceremony for its family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy. Since 2011, ZALF has been shaping its family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy with the berufundfamilie audit. In recognition of its long-standing commitment to work-life balance, ZALF was awarded the certificate with distinction.
With the berufundfamilie audit, ZALF supports its family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy, which serves equally to promote the compatibility of work and family life, individual lifestyles, and the acquisition of knowledge and outstanding scientific achievements.
Through the dialogue process, ZALF aims to consolidate and further expand the level of work-life balance it has achieved.
ZALF offers its approximately 500 employees a wide range of options for balancing work and family life. In addition to mobile working options, these include support in arranging childcare and nursing care, anonymous external telephone counseling for employees and their families, and a family-friendly tenure track procedure for promoting the careers of young scientists. These instruments are supplemented by company measures for health care and reintegration after long-term illness, the provision of a mobile children's room, and a relaxation room.
