Das BMBF fördert im Rahmen von „GlobE“ die Entwicklung von Forschungsnetzwerken mit dem Ziel, die Probleme des Nahrungssystems in Ländern Afrikas zu lösen und adaptierte Forschungslösungen zu entwickeln. Ein wichtiger Ansatzpunkt ist hier die Entwicklung von Mechanismen, um die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette der Nahrungsmittel- und Biomasseproduktion zu stabilisieren.<br>Ziele des fünfjährigen Verbundvorhabens sind: 1. Die Etablierung eines nachhaltigen Deutsch-Afrikanischen Netzwerks für Forschung, Entwicklung und Innovationen zum Nahrungssystem. 2. Die Analyse und Identifizierung derzeitiger Probleme. 3. Die partizipative Entwicklung von regional angepassten nachhaltigen Lösungen zur Stabilisierung der Nahrungsmittel-Wertschöpfungskette und Prüfung auf Implementierbarkeit. <br>Dazu soll in der ersten Förderstufe ein internationales fachlich breit gefächertes Konsortium und ein exzellentes Gesamtkonzept zusammengestellt werden.</div> | <div class="ExternalClass1293CC005D3C4F05AA5CAE93A022B3C2">Achieving food security is one of the greatest challenges for humanity and research. The current hunger crisis in large parts of Sub-Saharan Africa affects the whole food system, but efficient strategies to secure food supply are still missing. <br>Trans-SEC will carry out research to enhance local and regional food security. <br>The goals are: (I) To establish a sustainable German-African network for research, development and innovations in the food system. (II) To identify and analyse key problems. (III) To develop, in a participatory approach, regionally adapted solutions that could help to stabilize the food value chain, and to test these solutions in practice. <br>Integrated assessment tools for obtaining sustainable solutions will be developed and will support the implementation of best practise examples while exploring their potential effects and trade-offs. The Trans-SEC project encompasses a group of international research institutions, complementing each other with a broad research agenda.
