Long-term field experiments (LTEs) provide a valuable foundation for scientific research due to their enduring structure and continuous data collection over several decades. To ensure these precious time-series datasets remain accessible for the long term, our team (FAIRagro DSSC:
https://fairagro.net/helpdesk) supports the publication of LTE data in the BonaRes Repository (www.bonares.de).
In this context, we are pleased to announce the publication of another significant long-term experiment: the “Box Plot Experiment Großbeeren” LTE. Established in Brandenburg in 1972, this Experiment collected valuable data until 2022 on the effects of different fertilization strategies in an irrigated vegetable crop rotation across three distinct soil types. The study includes crops such as cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, leeks, and celery, grown under varying fertilization conditions. The complete dataset, with nitrogen and carbon content analyses in soil and plants, is now accessible https://doi.org/10.20387/bonares-fd75-nca9.
In addition to this dataset, the BonaRes Repository also offers data from nine other long-term experiments. An overview of all European LTEs is available on our LTE map (https://tools.bonares.de/ltfe). For questions or interest in publishing your data, please don’t hesitate to reach out – we’re here to assist you.
