ZALF at the Science Days of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021

Science Days am 8. und 9. Juli

On 8th and 9th July, the "Science Days for the UN Food Systems Summit 2021" will take place. Side events will also be offered from 5th to 7th July. Prof. Frank Ewert, scientific director of ZALF and member of the "Scientific Group of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021" will be a speaker at a plenary session on 8th July. On 6th July, ZALF will also offer a digital workshop on bridging indigenous and scientific knowledge for the development of sustainable and inclusive food systems.

The goal of the Science Days is to highlight the central importance of science, technology and innovation for the sustainable transformation of food systems in preparation for the UN Food Systems Summit in September.

Prof. Dr. Frank Ewert will participate in the panel discussion 3C titled "Capitalizing on models, data, and communications revolutions, and new methods" on 8th July starting at 4:40 p.m. The thematic block of the panel discussion deals with the translation of science into practice.

The workshop, "Bridging scientific and indigenous peoples' knowledge for sustainable and inclusive food systems," will be held on 6th July from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. via Zoom and will be offered by ZALF scientists Dr. Katharina Löhr and Dr. Constance Rybak, among others.
