(Projekte vor 2018) Deumlich, Detlef; Glemnitz, Michael; Wenkel, Karl-Otto; Willms, Matthias; Hufnagel, Johannes Drittmittel Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) (project prior to 2018) completed abgeschlossen

The research on this topic is part of the nationwide joint project “Development and comparison of optimised cropping systems for the agricultural production of energy crops under different soil and weather conditions”. The project is funded by the “Agency of Renewable Resources” (Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe - FNR). Based on intensive experimental research in six different regions of Germany, regional cropping systems for different kinds of arable energy plants will be developed within the modul 1 of the joint project. The ecological assessment will use the regional cropping systems and analyse their ecological effects compared to traditional cropping systems. To perform the assessments, existing model approaches for analysing abiotic and biotic effects of different cropping systems will be used. Concerning abiotic effects, mainly nutrient emission, groundwater recharge, humus dynamics, soil fertility, water erosion risk and energy balances will be targeted. Regarding potential biotic effects, the habitat quality of different kind of energy plant stands, the effects of modified disturbance intensity due to cropping activities and the spatial effects on neighbouring landscape elements will be analysed with a knowledge based expert model. The model approaches will be feed with real data from the crop rotation trials of the project partners, with data from “satellite-trials” targeting special issues of energy plant cropping, like mixed cropping, growing perennial fodder crops, two-crop-systems (two harvests per year), reduced input systems and with data from exemplary field investigations on biotic components (weeds, ground beetles, spiders, bees, hoverflies and birds) in agricultural enterprises. Inter-relations between the structure of the crop stands, the habitat requirements of the different target species groups and the timing of management measures will be used as basis for the biotic assessments.
Ökologische Folgewirkungen des Energiepflanzenanbaus

2009 Energiepflanzenanbau

Brandenburgisches Landesamt für Verbraucherschutz, Landwirtschaft und Flurneuordnung (LVLF), Referat Acker- und Pflanzenbau

Julius-Kühn-Insttut, Institut für Pflanzenbau und Bodenkunde

Landesforschungsanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Fischerei (LFA) Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Landwirtschaftliches Technologiezentrum (LTZ) Augustenberg

Landwirtschaftskammer Niedersachsen (LWKNS)

Landwirtschaftskammer Nordrhein-Westfalen
