Das Projekt wurde mit 7,5 Millionen Euro aus dem EU-Programm &quot;Horizont 2020&quot; gefördert.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align&#58;justify;"><span>Ab Januar 2020 wird das Projekt FoodSHIFT2030 einen ehrgeizigen, von Bürger*innen <span>&#160;</span>gesteuerten Übergang des europäischen Ernährungssystems hin zu einer kohlenstoffarmen, zirkulären Zukunft einleiten. Der Wandel umfasst eine Ernährungsumstellung hin zu einer pflanzenbasierten Ernährung mit weniger Fleisch, bei gleichzeitiger Verbesserung der Nahrungsmittel- und Ernährungssicherheit, die Verringerung der Treibhausgasemissionen und die Revitalisierung von Stadt-Land-Beziehungen. Das Projekt zeichnet sich durch ein starkes Multi-Akteur-Konsortium mit 31 Partnern aus, die sich aus lokalen Regierungen, KMUs, NGOs, Universitäten, Forschungseinrichtungen und Netzwerkpartnern zusammensetzen. Das Projekt wird von der Forschungsgruppe für Klima- und Ernährungssicherheit an der Universität Kopenhagen koordiniert.<span>&#160; </span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align&#58;justify;"><span>Das Ziel des Projekts besteht darin, die transformative Kraft der Bürger*innen zu unterstützen, die sich bereits für die Entwicklung nachhaltiger und innovativer Lösungen für Ernährungssysteme in europäischen Stadtregionen engagieren.<span>&#160; </span>FoodSHIFT2030 zielt darauf ab, Arbeitsplätze im Lebensmittelsektor zu schaffen, kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) zu fördern, die Bürger*innen zu stärken und den Zusammenhalt zwischen Stadt und Land zu verbessern. Es wird erwartet, dass dieser Ansatz einen langfristigen positiven Einfluss auf die Nachhaltigkeit Ernährungssystems haben wird. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align&#58;justify;"><span>Die Unterstützung der Innovationen wird in neun führenden Stadtregionen, in sog. FoodSHIFT Accelerator Labs, stattfinden. Dazu gehören der Großraum Athen, Avignon, Barcelona, Bari, Brasov, Berlin, Großraum Kopenhagen, Oostende und Breslau. Anschließend wird das Wissen an Nachfolger, die FoodSHIFT Enabler Labs, in 27 weiteren Stadtregionen weitergegeben. Jedes Labor wird innerhalb eines Innovationsschwerpunkts an der Reifung, Kombination und Hochskalierung bestehender Innovationen im Ernährungsbereich arbeiten. Mittels entwickelter FoodSHIFT-Indikatoren wird der Nutzen der Ernährungssystem-Innovationen in den Bereichen Umwelt, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft gemessen und bestimmt. Es werden Strategien und Beratungspläne für eine bürgernahe Steuerung des Ernährungsystems erstellt, um die Transformation des Ernährungssystems zu unterstützen und die Aufnahme der Innovationen in den teilnehmenden Stadtregionen zu fördern.<br></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align&#58;justify;"><span>Die Forschung des ZALF konzentriert sich auf die Steuerung des Übergangs hin zu einer kohlenstoffarmen zirkulären Zukunft regionaler Ernährungssysteme. Im Berliner Labor arbeitet das ZALF eng mit den anderen in Berlin ansässigen Partnern agrathaer, dem Berliner Ernährungsrat und THF Vision zusammen. </span></p></div> <div class="ExternalClass929F8F0EA38F40AA92BE1156EE4BC949"><p style="text-align&#58;justify;">FOODSHIFT 2030, a new project on transforming the European food system towards a low carbon circular future applies a groundbreaking mechanism for maturing, combining, upscaling and multiplying sustainable food system innovations. The project has received EUR 7.5 million from the EU Horizon 2020 programme.</p><p style="text-align&#58;justify;">Starting in January 2020, the FoodSHIFT2030 project will launch an ambitious citizen-driven transition of the European food system towards a low carbon circular future. The transition includes a shift to less meat and more plant based diets, while improving food and nutrition security, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and revitalizing urban-rural linkages. The project features a strong multi-actor consortium with 31 partners composed of local governments, SMEs, NGOs, universities, research institutions and network partners. It is coordinated by Research Group on Climate and Food Security at the University of Copenhagen. &#160;</p><p style="text-align&#58;justify;">The projects mission is to supporting the transformative power of citizens already engaged in developing sustainable and innovative food system solutions in European city-regions. &#160;FoodSHIFT2030 aims to increase food sector jobs, boost small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), empower citizens and facilitate urban-rural cohesion. By doing so it is expected to have a lasting positive impact on food system sustainability that will continue beyond the project lifetime. </p><p style="text-align&#58;justify;">Boosting innovation will take place in FoodSHIFT Accelerator Labs in<strong> </strong>nine front-runner city-regions&#58; Greater Athens, Avignon, Barcelona, Bari, Brasov, Berlin, Greater Copenhagen, Oostende and Wroclaw. Subsequently knowledge will be transferred to FoodSHIFT Enabler Labs in twenty-seven follower city-regions. Each lab will work on maturing, combining and upscaling existing food system innovations within a specific innovation focus. The benefits of the food system innovations on the environment, the economy and the society will be determined by assessing their effects on a set of FoodSHIFT Indicators. Strategies and advisory plans for citizen-driven food system governance will be co-created to support food system transition and foster market uptake in the participating city-regions.</p><p>ZALF research puts a focus on governing the transition to a low carbon circular future of regional food systems.
