The Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) e.V. strengthens international research cooperation with its fellowship program. The aim is to involve excellent scientists in strategic subject areas - including biodiversity, climate change and sustainable food systems.
Prof. Dr. Vivian Valencia (Bishop's University, Canada) was nominated for the current fellowship by Dr. Maria Kernecker Program Area 3 Agricultural Landscape Systems, Spatial and Systems Context working group. With her multidisciplinary expertise in ecology, agriculture and public health, she researches “lighthouses” - pioneering examples of sustainable agriculture. Her projects offer valuable synergies with ZALF research on agroforestry systems, diversification and socio-ecological transformations. The collaboration with Prof. Valencia not only promises scientific exchange at the highest level, but also strengthens the international visibility of ZALF - especially in North America. We are very pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Vivian Valencia as a fellow in our program area for 2 years starting in October.
