Long-term field trials (LTE) are a central basis for agricultural research, as they provide valuable data for sustainable land management over decades. Their systematic collection makes it possible to analyze long-term developments and make well-founded agronomic decisions. Our team at the NFDI FAIRagro DSSC (https://fairagro.net/helpdesk) provides support in publishing these valuable time series data in a structured and freely accessible way in the BonaRes repository (https://doi.org/10.25504/FAIRsharing.2cw3HU).
In this context, we are pleased to announce the publication of the data from the long-term trial in Rostock. The trial was set up in autumn 1998 at the experimental station of the University of Rostock and is located in a maritime area of northern Germany, about 15 km south of the Baltic Sea coast. The aim of the trial is to investigate different fertilization strategies. For this purpose, a randomized split-plot design with four replicates was created, in which organic and inorganic fertilizers were combined in nine variants. The complete data set is available here:
https://doi.org/10.20387/bonares-d8bq-gwt7. The BonaRes repository is constantly growing and offers, in addition to general research data, a comprehensive collection of LTE data for research into sustainable management strategies. A comprehensive overview of the European long-term experiments is available for all interested parties on our LTE overview map (https://tools.bonares.de/ltfe). If you would like to publish your own data or have questions about data preparation, we will be happy to advise you. .
