Data-intensive statistical methods and AI are essential for addressing global ecological and agricultural challenges. However, research data often are not freely accessible and reusable, partly due to unknown or heterogeneous data quality.
The BonaRes Repository, dedicated to the publication and curation of data from agricultural and soil research, has developed the free web app DQ-Kit for data quality assessment. DQ-Kit gives an overview of the statistical properties of a dataset and identifies data gaps and correlations. The DQ-Kit report can be published together with the data in the BonaRes Repository to facilitate reuse and increase the impact of data publications. DQ-Kit will soon be provided as open-source software. The goal is to continuously develop the app in collaboration with the user community. For this release, we collaborated with DBFZ (Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum).
