Tasks

  • Exploration of regional distribution, ecosystem functions, pollutions and ecological quality of different small water body types, especially of kettle holes, depending on natural site factors and land use impacts
  • Exploration of relevant internal and external processes and structures for ecosystem functioning of small water body types considering wet-dry-cycle
  • Testing of measures and development of action options for conservation and management of small water bodies as well as for nutrient retention from agricultural drainage outflows by purification ponds
  • Knowledge transfer for conservation of small water bodies (steering committee of the European Pond Conservation Network, www.europeanponds.org; working group „Plant protection and water protection“, forum of the National Action Plan for plant protection)
