The research tasks assigned to ZALF require the exploration of the basic principles inherent in soil - plant - water - earth's atmosphere interactions.

To this effect, the Central Laboratory is engaged in studying the samples taken in the Institutes and by the research teams for their constituents, using modern analysis equipment and methods.

For analysing the samples, there are available inter alia elementar analysis, AAS, ICP, ion chromatography and anion analysis.
The Central Laboratory performs anually a total of  90.000 analyses on 11.000 samples.

The following RANGE of analyses/tools are made available as service to the users.
