The Department of landscape information systems (LIS), a central unit of ZALF, coordinates and implements
knowledge and information management which is understood to be a strategic mission of interdisciplinary landscape research being
performed at ZALF.
Central field of activity is the development and preparation of the required research environment. Core elements of infrastructure
are central data repositories, web services, workflows and web based research platforms. The high quality services of the department
support sustainable, inter- and trans-disciplinary landscape research.
