Research areas of the Institute

Within the general scope, the Institute has two main research areas, agricultural land use systems and habitats within agricultural landscapes. In both fields, criteria and interactions of environmental qualities and pathways to approach given environmental standards are subject of scientific investigations.
Land use systems in agricultural landscapes

Analysis, modelling and development of land use systems, including land use technology (arable land, grassland, animal production on pastures, non-crop areas )

Habitat systems within agricultural landscapes and their
interactions with land use

Analysis and modelling of the occurrence and spatial distribution of typical wildlife species, plants and animals, in agrarian landscapes as a function of site, land use and landscape structure.
