After 40 months of research on multifunctionality impacts of CAP policies in Europe, the MEA-Scope consortium wants to present the central results to the public.
Background: The MEA-Scope Project
MEA-Scope is an FP6 EU project started in 2004 that directly supports policy makers in the European Commission by developing a tool for the ex-ante assessment of policies. Key objective is the multifunctionality of agriculture, a common consideration of primary production (commodity outputs, COs) and the joint products contributing to landscape functions (non commodity outputs, NCOs). By the means of simulation models (run with detailed regional and farm level data from seven selected case study areas in Europe) the economic, environmental and social impacts of the Common Agricultural Policies (CAP) are assessed.
