The second cluster meeting of SENSOR was organized in
The excursion was arranged in order to enable Module 6, Module 7 and also other module’s participants to meet representatives of the different stakeholder groups in the area. High Tatras is a mountain type of region, exposed to various types of natural hazards and human pressures and represents also the focal point of many political, economical and environmental discussions between groups with conflicting interests. During the excursion, we had the chance to explore relevant sustainability issues, by direct participation in discussions with representatives of Tourism Association of H. Tatras, H. Tatras National Park Headquarters and the NGO A-Project, which facilitates the discussion between local population, administration authorities, nature protection representatives and other interest groups within the area. In addition, the excursion participants had an excellent opportunity to explore the natural beauties and folk traditions of this part of the ![]() SENSOR project meeting October 2005 in Sliema, Malta Malta, a sensitive area case study region in the SENSOR project, was chosen as a venue for the second Project Meeting. More than 80 scientists from 33 different European research organisations gathered for five days in this new EU Member State. The uniquness of the Maltesian landscape and landuse as well as sustainability issues were transmitted to all SENSOR partners during a field trip to the countryside and a special session with maltesian stakeholders organised by MEPA. see the MEPA information on SENSOR >> ![]()
Maltesian landscape with its typical rubble walls. SENSOR cluster meeting in Warsaw The first overall and very fruitful work meeting of the SENSOR project was held from April 6-8 in Warsaw. Plenary, module specific and cross-modular workshops were held to present the work progress made so far and draw conclusions for the next steps. SENSOR partner IUNG had organised this meeting perfectly as well as the following side trip to Silesia, which gave SENSOR partners impressing insights into the socio-economic, environmental, cultural and historical specifics of this area. ![]() | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
