  • Studies on the taxonomy, systematics, bionomics and phenology of nematoceran Diptera using classical morphological and genetic techniques
  • Participation in the establishment of a database for the collection of data on the German culicid mosquitoes, including seasonal and geographic occurrence, collection site characteristics, pathogen detection, vector competence etc. with the aim of preparing GIS-based distribution maps of the mosquito species occurring in Germany
  • Ecological studies in the field on endemic and invasive species of nematoceran Diptera with special reference to their seasonal and geographic occurrence and their breeding habitat preferences
  • operational and logistic management of insects trapping
