Expertise

  • insect ecology in agricultural landscapes and forests
  • landscape genetics (past and present)
  • population genetics
  • light pollution

Tasks

  • to investigate the effects of landscape structure on the population genetic structure of selected pollinators (hoverflies, bumblebees)
  • to study plant-pollinator interactions in systems of spatially isolated plant populations
  • to investigate long-term changes in present species genetic diversity in response to landscape change.
  • Principal Investigator in the project ‘Landscape genetics of insect-pollinated forest herbs in changing agricultural landscapes’ funded by the DFG, in cooperation with Dr. Tobias Naaf (ZALF) and Dr. Katja Kramp (Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut)
