Join ZALF as an intern during your studies!

ZALF gives Bachelor or Master’s students the option of gaining important practical experience by doing an internship. This gives you the opportunity to gain additional skills alongside your studies, enabling you to find out more about working in academia.

Internships on offer: Internships are regularly posted on the ZALF website. You can also send an unsolicited application, stating your interests or suggestions for topics. If you are interested in a particular Institute or project at ZALF, please contact the respective Institute or supervising scientist. Alternatively, you can send a brief description of your substantive ideas to the Head of Human Resources.

Duration: The internship should be for a minimum of four weeks. A longer internship may be appropriate for some research projects.

Application documents: Please enclose the following with your application:

  • a short covering letter stating what your internship should entail,
  • your preferred internship period,
  • a registration certificate and – if available – a university degree certificate, as well as
  • a short Curriculum Vitae.

Accommodation: ZALF has a Cultural Exchange Centre for International Academics in Müncheberg. Please enquire about vacancies and conditions when you apply.

Why not get to know ZALF on ZALF PhD Day and gain insight into a variety of research areas that could also be of interest for your internship?
