Good Scientific Practice: What early career scientists need to know?

On 6th of June 2018 it is time again: ZALF warmly invites you to the annual PhD Day.

By now, the PhD Day has firmly established itself in the ZALF events calendar. It is the ideal occasion for all current and recently graduated PhD researchers to connect and discuss with each other. In addition, the PhD Day explicitly targets interested doctoral researchers and students of other research institutions to inform themselves about the diversity of topics in agricultural landscape research as well as dissertation career paths.

Numerous ZALF PhD candidates will present their various research topics in interesting ways. Participants await a diverse programme with science slams, hands-on-tour presentations as well as elevator pitches.

This year’s PhD Day will also focus on the important topic of good scientific practice and its relevance especially for early career scientists. We are looking forward to a presentation from Dr. Frauke Schocker, scientist at the Research Center Borstel. She will present the Borstel Model, an innovative concept to ensure good scientific practice in the daily work of researchers. Based on this best-practice example and pilot project of the Leibniz Association, we invite to discuss the role of academic integrity in the research process.

At the end of the day we will invite you to join a barbecue on the beautiful ZALF campus.
